My name is Bitini Pannell and I am a mother, a writer, a hiker, and a dreamer. I began my career early, serving and advocating for adults and children with Developmental Disabilities and Autism. My passion for human service propelled me towards a need to understand the human mind and behaviors. I graduated from the University at Buffalo with a BA in Psychology and English. I then earned my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Medaille College in New York.
I have worked in community mental health as a clinical case manager and crisis counselor. I have worked with children and adults in all stages of development, and often I meet individuals at their most vulnerable and hopeless stages of life. My specialties lie in trauma, anxiety, depression, and existential therapy. I have gained experience serving those with conflicts with existence/meaning/purpose, suicidal ideation, self-injurious behaviors, emotional disturbances, self-esteem and body image issues, sleep disturbances, thought disorders, and stress.
My clinical focus lies within strength based and positive psychology. I believe that people are resilient, resourceful and possess the power to live healthy, full and meaningful lives. I am dynamic in my approach pulling from many techniques such as mindfulness, empowerment, coping skills teaching, psychoeducation, really honing in on what works best for you. I look forward to building a therapeutic relationship with you that fosters growth, healing, and allowing you to realize your greatest potential.
