About Grace Wood, MS, LPC-Associate

$90-$120 per session

Grace completed her bachelor’s degree at Southwestern University and her Master’s in Counseling Psychology at the University of Kansas.  She has received training in Gottman Couple’s Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Grace loves working with individuals exploring their identity, which can include: religion, sport, family, career, occupation, relationships, gender, and sexuality, along with many other unique facets.  This exploration often takes place in the form of the questions “who am I” and “what am I doing with my life” which can be overwhelming!  There are countless aspects to our identities that deserve attention and understanding, and a therapist can be an enormous support.  Grace takes a non-judgmental stance with clients and hopes to help them take a non-judgmental stance toward themselves.

Grace also emphasizes the importance of using strengths to overcome challenges.  Life is not easy, but each person comes equipped with unique tools.  Unfortunately, the high standards we tend to put on ourselves make it much easier to focus on weaknesses than on strengths.  By understanding our natural aptitudes in certain areas, we can stop focusing on the things we can’t do and start focusing on ways to use our strengths instead.

The most important part of counseling is to have a trusting, understanding relationship with your therapist.  Schedule a free consultation with Grace today!
