Embracing a trauma-informed approach, I create a safe and empathetic environment for clients to explore and heal from their past experiences. I firmly believe in the power of every emotion, thought, and feeling and how they can shape our lives.

My approach centers around viewing clients as whole individuals, valuing the unique intersections of their identities. I want to emphasize that you are not broken; there is nothing inherently wrong with you. However, life can be complex and challenging, and together we can explore strategies to navigate these difficulties.

Having experienced the journey of the LGBTQ community firsthand, I understand the importance of affirming and validating each individual’s identity. Similarly, my passion for supporting neurodivergent clients stems from the belief in honoring and embracing diverse ways of experiencing the world. I also value Infusing humor and laughter into our counseling sessions. I aim to build an authentic and trusting connection with my clients.

With a trauma-informed lens and EMDR Trained, I am committed to empowering clients to find strength in their resilience and make positive changes throughout our therapeutic journey.Creating a safe, nonjudgmental space is at the core of my practice, where clients can not only live but truly thrive. Favorite Quote, Movie, Book, or TV Show

“Pain demands to be felt” is a quote from the novel “The Fault in Our Stars” by John Green. The line reflects the idea that pain is an essential part of the human experience and cannot be ignored or suppressed. It suggests that acknowledging and processing emotional pain is crucial for personal growth and healing. In life, we all encounter various forms of pain, whether it be physical or emotional. Trying to avoid or deny our pain may lead to further distress and unresolved issues. Instead, facing our pain, allowing ourselves to feel it, and processing those emotions can help us come to terms with our experiences and move forward in a healthy way. By acknowledging our pain, we can better understand ourselves and our reactions, learn from our experiences, and find ways to cope and heal. It is through this process that we can develop resilience, compassion, and a deeper appreciation for the complexities of the human condition.

A Word from your Therapist

As a therapist, I want you to know that I see you and deeply honor the opportunity to be a part of your healing journey. Whether we find laughter in a TikTok video or a funny meme, or if you simply need a listening ear to process your thoughts, I am fully present and committed to supporting you.

Personal Identities

I identify as Lesbian, and strongly have a spiritual background in crystals, and auras. Those are my favorite. I, too, struggle with a chronic illness, and in the past struggled with my own depression and anxiety. I know what it is like to seek counseling and answers for the hard stuff we are going through. All of that to say, I know what pain feels like. I also know what healing is like, and I am here to help you navigate to get to a healing process.

Educational and Work Background

  • I graduated from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas, with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health for my undergraduate degree. Following that, I pursued a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Tarleton State University in Fort Worth, Texas. I am also EMDR trained and hold a Level 1 Gottman Training certification.
  • My professional journey in the mental health field began with two years of experience as a Behavioral Health Counselor at an Eating Recovery Hospital. Subsequently, I worked for a Remote Mental Health Platform, providing medication support for clients all over the United States, particularly those dealing with depression and anxiety.
  • Before transitioning into counseling full time, I had a successful career as a Senior Travel Recruiter in the corporate world, where I spent five years. However, becoming a therapist has always been a dream of mine, and I’m grateful to have made this rewarding career change.
  • I am passionate about helping individuals with their mental health and well-being, and my background in Public Health, along with certifications in EMDR and Gottman Training, has equipped me with valuable skills in this field.

Hobbies or Personal Interests

During my downtime, I find immense joy in indulging in my favorite hobbies and spending quality time with my dogs, Maggie and Bruce. They are my constant companions, and together, we explore the wonders of nature and engage in various outdoor adventures. My hobbies revolve around my dogs Maggie and Bruce, paddle boarding, running, and enjoying nature through mental health-oriented girly walks are not only sources of joy and fulfillment but also crucial components of my well-rounded and balanced lifestyle. These activities nourish my mind, body, and spirit, reminding me to appreciate the simple pleasures of life and the enduring companionship of my furry friends.

Why Did you Become a Therapist?

I became a therapist because building meaningful relationships is a calling that resonates deeply within me. From the very beginning, I was drawn to the profound opportunity to establish deep and impactful connections with my clients, knowing that the therapeutic relationship holds the potential for positive change and growth.

In every therapeutic encounter, my primary goal is to create a space of trust and understanding, where my clients feel genuinely heard and supported. I believe that a strong therapeutic alliance is the foundation for healing and transformation. Witnessing the profound impact of this bond as clients find resilience, healing, and personal growth is both humbling and incredibly rewarding.
