Briana Gonzalez-Evans (She/Her/Hers)

Welcome! I’m Bri (she/her/hers). I am a licensed professional counselor associate under the supervision of Jennifer Buffalo, LPC-S, LMFT. I am dedicated to providing compassionate and effective therapy. My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but I also integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) techniques. For example, I might use CBT to address specific thought patterns, ACT to help you align your actions with your values, Mindfulness to increase self-awareness, Solution-Focused Therapy to set achievable goals, and IFS to explore internal conflicts. This allows me to tailor the best possible care for each individual.

As a child of an immigrant born and raised in the culturally rich Rio Grande Valley, I understand the complexities of cultural identity and the unique challenges that come with it. My personal and professional experiences have equipped me with a deep understanding and empathy for those navigating these challenges. I am committed to being an ally and affirming to the LGBTQ+ community, as well as to those in kink and poly/ethical non-monogamy relationships. Your session is a safe space where all identities and relationship structures are respected and valued.
I am trauma-informed, which means I strive to understand, recognize, and respond to the effects of all types of trauma. This affects my approach to therapy by ensuring I create an environment where you can feel safe and supported as you work through your experiences and by using techniques that are sensitive to the impact of trauma on your mental health. Your care is my priority. I am committed to fostering an open, non-judgmental environment that promotes a sense of safety and acceptance. My goal is to help you grow, learn, and heal in a supportive and nurturing space.
If you’re ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery and healing, I’m here to support you every step of the way. Together, we can navigate life’s challenges and work towards a brighter, more fulfilling future!
