Emily Heimberger (She/Her)
MA, LPC-Associate, EMDR Trained, Group Services Coordinator
You’ve survived by disconnecting. Let’s gently find your way back.
You might be navigating adulthood looking “fine” on the outside, but internally you feel miles away or fragmented. Maybe you feel like you’re living on autopilot, watching your life happen rather than actually being in it. Or perhaps you notice a constant, low-grade hum of anxiety that keeps you in perpetual survival mode; always scanning for danger, unable to truly rest or feel safe in your own skin.
Whether you’re seeking therapy for the first time or you’ve tried talk therapy before and still feel stuck, you might be realizing that you can’t just think your way into feeling better. Your logical brain knows you’re safe now, but your nervous system hasn’t caught up. It’s still operating on a script written years ago, keeping you braced for a threat that’s no longer there.
I offer a space that is, first and foremost, deeply human and relational. My style is warm, authentic, and attuned. I’m not here to fix you or rush you through a protocol. I’m here to meet you exactly where you are and to welcome all the different parts of your experience with curiosity and zero judgment.
We move at your pace. Prioritizing safety and stabilization, I use a specialized approach of EMDR, parts work, and somatic therapy to help your nervous system learn that it’s finally okay to come out of survival mode.
You don’t have to carry this alone anymore. If you’re ready to gently find your way back to yourself, I invite you to reach out for a free consultation.

Hobbies or Personal Interests
Outside of the therapy room, my favorite hobby is… having hobbies! I have a deep curiosity for learning new things and love the process of being a beginner at a new craft or skill. When I’m not diving into a new project, you can find me getting lost in a good fantasy novel, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, and taking Lagree classes.
Why Did you Become a Therapist?
I came to this work through my own healing journey. I know firsthand that recovering from trauma isn’t a straight line. It’s a complex, unfolding process that takes time. I became a therapist because I experienced how transformative it is to simply not be alone in that process. I view therapy not as a place where I “fix” you, but as a space where I walk alongside you, offering the safety, compassion, and deep understanding of someone who truly gets the terrain.
