Todla Hobson (She/Her)
MA, LPC-Associate
Hi! I’m Todla, (she/her), a licensed professional counselor associate under the supervision of Jennifer Buffalo, LPC-S, LMFT-S. I work with grief & loss and working through difficult life transitions and adjustment as well as supporting family members struggling with mental illness in the family unit. Pain shared and revealed is the first step in healing core disruptions showing up and holding one back from living their best life possible. I work to understand and feel with my clients their limiting beliefs and how these beliefs were birthed. We will unravel these beliefs and create new ones to enable a life fully lived and celebrated.
We will work collaboratively with the client setting the pace in their journey of awareness and self discovery. I work with parents, families, women, transgender and gender-nonconforming individuals.

Educational and Work Background
I grew up in the midwest and received a BA from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 1994. I lived in London for over 12 years and moved to Austin in 2010 so that my husband could receive treatment at MD Anderson in Houston, TX. I was widowed with two young children in 2012 and returned to school for a masters in the art of counseling at St. Edward’s University graduating May 2025. In my first life, I was an executive recruiter in London, England, and Austin, TX. This interrelational career has created a solid foundation for my work in therapy. My first act assisted me in a strong understanding of challenges that arise during major life transitions, helping clients navigate these periods with clarity and self-compassion and how these changes touch the sense of our identity and belonging. Life’s turning points involve relationships, loss, and personal growth.
Hobbies or Personal Interests
My self-care routine involves yoga, hiking, cooking, time with my friends and traveling. Advocacy work for the LBGTQ community.
